Synthesis and cytotoxicity of a cobaltcarbonyl-alkyne enkephalin bioconjugate.

A solid-phase synthesized propargyl derivative of the neuropeptide leucine-enkephalin (Enk) reacts rapidly and quantitatively with Co(2)(CO)(8) to give the Co(2)(CO)(6)-alkyne labeled peptide , which is the first organometallic peptide bioconjugate to show significant toxicity against two different tumor cell lines.

Cu-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition.

The Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of organic azides and alkynes has gained considerable attention in recent years due to the introduction in 2001 of Cu(1) catalysis by Tornøe and Meldal, leading to a major improvement in both rate and regioselectivity of the reaction, as realized independently by the Meldal and the Sharpless laboratories. The great success of the Cu(1) catalyzed re...

Alkyne-Protected Ruthenium Nanoparticles†

Stable ruthenium nanoparticles protected by 1-octynyl fragments were synthesized by a wet chemical method. Transmission electron microscopic measurements showed that the resulting particles exhibited an average core diameter of 2.55 ( 0.15 nm with well-defined Ru crystalline lattice fringes. Because of the formation of RusCt bonds, the CtC vibrational stretch was found in FTIR measurements to r...

Acetylenedithiolate: alkyne complex formation renders it a dithiolate chelate ligand.

The isostructural complexes [{Tp'W(CO)(2)(eta(2)-C(2)S(2))}(2)M] (M = Ni, Pd, Pt) show that the eta(2)-C,C'-alkyne complexes of acetylenedithiolate at [Tp'W(CO)(2)](+) can generally act as dithiolate chelate ligands, leading to dithiolene type complexes.
